Upcoming Events and Opportunities

1) Tutoring hours for the JESSC are now available.  Remember the JESSC offers a wide range of services to foster student success.

2) Rabelais Constructors are looking to hire an architectural engineering graduate for a full-time position.  Contact Dr. Bailey or Dr. Shen for application details.

3) The National Nuclear Security Administration Minority Serving Institution Internship Program is now accepting applications.  These are paid internships.  Applications due February 1; information sessions held virtually in January.

4) The Department of Homeland Security is accepting applications for paid internships.  Deadline is January 31.

5) The National Science Foundation funds several Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) at universities across the country.  Applications are typically due February 1.  Students interested in graduate school should strongly considered applying for an REU.  The University of California at San Diego has a structural engineering REU.

7) Next Step Ministries has paid internship opportunities in construction.

8) LandDesign Inc. is looking for civil engineering interns and fulltime employees.  These jobs are focused on land development.

1) FE PREP COURSE AVAILABLE! Discounted PPI program available to students for $95.  Each student will receive access to an electronic copy of PPI’s review manual, 2 attempts at a 110 question mock exam, and 6 months of access to online questions and other review material.  Interested students should contact Austin McCoy (

2) Thinking about graduate school?  The fast-track program allows undergraduate students to take up to three classes that count for both undergraduate and graduate credit.  For more information, speak to Dr. Choi ( or Dr. Aguiniga (  Graduate fellowship opportunities are available for talented undergraduates wanting to work on their M.S. in Civil Engineering at TAMUK.
