Texas A&M University - Kingsville Veterinary Technologists Club

The TAMUK Vet Tech Club is a Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA) that supports students at TAMUK who love animals and those who wish to become veterinary technologists.  The Vet Tech Club also provides support and basic animal care education throughout the community.  More information about the club can be found on CollegiateLink.  Upcoming club events can be found on CollegiateLink and Facebook.


National Organizations

National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America

The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is a non-profit professional membership association that supports the profession of Veterinary Technology.  NAVTA is responsible for establishing and governing Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) academies.  Membership is available at no additional cost for Veterinary Technology Program students active in the TAMUK Veterinary Technologists Club.

Texas Veterinary Medical Association

The Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) is a non-profit professional membership association for veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians/technologists.  The organization's mission is to promote, advocate for and protect the veterinary medical profession and to advance animal health for the well-being of animals and humans.  Students can obtain membership by sending a membership email request to TVMA at membership@tvma.org

American Veterinary Medical Association

The American Veterinary Medical Association is a non-profit professional membership association and serves as the leading advocate of the veterinary profession.  AVMA membership is open to veterinarians only, but the organization is responsible for accrediting veterinary technology programs in the U.S.  The organization is committed to enhancing the lives of animals through the elevation of veterinary care techniques and public education.
