Dr. Sehee Lee is an accomplished pianist with a global career that spans collaborative piano, chamber music, and solo performances. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice in Piano and Collaborative Piano at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she is recognized for her dedication to piano education and performance. Dr. Lee is also a founding member of the Vista Trio, an ensemble known for its dynamic performances and recordings. She has performed extensively across the United States, Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, and her native Korea, delivering over fifty recitals annually, often in collaboration with vocalists and instrumentalists. She has also showcased her talent as a soloist with the Kingsville Orchestra.
Beyond her academic role at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Dr. Lee has served as a collaborative artist in residence at prestigious summer festivals, including the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Puerto Rico Center for Collaborative Piano, the New England Music Camp, the Vianden Music Festival, and the Killington Music Festival. She is currently on the piano faculty at both the Montecito International Music Festival and the Bakersfield International Music Festival. Additionally, she contributes her musical expertise as an organist at the Church of the Epiphany in Kingsville, Texas.
Dr. Lee holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Piano Performance from Kyunghee University in Seoul, Korea. She furthered her studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, earning an Artist Diploma and a Master's Degree in Collaborative Piano under the guidance of Anita Pontremoli. During her time at CIM, she was awarded the Rosa Lobe Memorial Award in Accompanying for her outstanding artistic achievements. Dr. Lee completed her doctoral degree in Collaborative Piano at Arizona State University, studying with Andrew Campbell on a full scholarship.
Her commitment to teaching and collaborative performance has earned her several accolades, including the Audience Favorite Collaborative Pianist award in the 2021 CyberCollab Competition and the 2020 Teaching Award from the Center for Teaching Effectiveness. She was also honored with the Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching for the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
