Dr. Hempel received her B.S.
in Education from the University of Texas and a Ph.D. in Botany, also from
the University of Texas at Austin, after spending some time at Sul Ross
State University in Alpine, TX. Her current research focus is on
the ecology and evolution of desert plants especially those that grow on
gypsum. In her spare time she enjoys hiking in the Southwest, gardening,
cooking, and live music.

Dr. Galloway received her B.S.
in Botany and M.S. in Biology from California State Polytechnic University,
Pomona. She then received her Ph.D in Botany and Plant Sciences from the
University of California at Riverside. Her main research focus at this
time is on bryophysiology, or the physiology of bryophytes. Away from work,
Dr. Galloway enjoys genealogy and reading "any mystery I can get my hands
on".
Irma Negrete

Irma is currently researching
the diverse flora of Site 55, a research station not far from Texas A&M
University-Kingsville.
Andrew Ramirez
andrew.ramirez@tamuk.edu
Andrew is an undergraduate
student who maintains and creates graphics for the Herbarium web site.
Any problem with the technical aspect of the site should be directed towards
him. (But please be nice!) :-)
