Six receive international education fund scholarships

KINGSVILLE (November 15, 2006) — Six students at Texas A&M University-Kingsville were awarded the International Education Fund Awards for the fall semester, said Dr. W. Frank Hull IV, director of international studies and programs.

The competitive scholarships are available to all full-time students at A&M-Kingsville and the Texas A&M University-Kingsville System Center in San Antonio. Each student receives $1,000 for a 12-month period. Applicants are judged on merit by a committee of faculty and students, Hull said.

This fall’s recipients are Tushar Ashok Dudhane, a master’s student in industrial engineering from Maharashtra, India; Yao-Hui Liang, a doctoral student in educational leadership from Taipei, Taiwan; Yu-Chih Lo, a doctoral student in bilingual education from Taiping City, Taiwan; Shao-Chieh Lu, a doctoral student in educational leadership from Hualien, Taiwan; Shahad Rehmatulla Baig Mohammed, a master’s student in computer science from Hyderabad, India; and Surya Sarathi Majumdar, an undergraduate in electrical engineering from Kolkata, India.

The next awards competition period will be from Dec. 1, 2006 through Jan. 15, 2007. Students may use the university’s online scholarship application system to apply. For more information about the program, call 361-593-3994.
