Check-In Process for New & Transferring Students

All international students attending TAMUK for the first time will need to Check-In with the OISSS before they can register for class.

We highly recommend that students check-in with our office no later than Friday, August 10, as classes fill up quickly.

Our office will be having new student check-in every day for your convenience:

Check-In: Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

*Students who arrive after 2:00p.m. will need to check-in the next day.*

Location: Cousins Hall, Room 113A (Front Desk)

**Please allow a minimum of 30-45 minutes for the check-in process**

Please bring the following documents when reporting for Check-In:

  • TAMUK I-20 (If a U.S. transfer student, please provide previous school’s I-20)
  • Passport
  • I-94 Number (print out I-94 number at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov)
  • Form OISSS-70, Maintaining Legal Status Form (completed & signed)

International Student Orientation

International students attending TAMUK for the first time are required to attend International Student Orientation.  You may find further information regarding orientation on our Student Activities website.
