It’s time to relive those memories you hold onto, the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose – that feeling.  It’s time for a Javelina Homecoming at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The theme of this year’s week-long celebration is “Feel the Pride”. The week of special events begins Monday, Oct. 17, and concludes Saturday, Oct. 22, with the annual homecoming football game at Javelina Stadium. 

This year the Office of Student Activities and the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs have planned a full week of activities for students, alumni and the Javelina community.   

Admission and parking are free to the following events, unless otherwise indicated. 

Tuesday, October 18 

  • 7 p.m.:  The Talent Show will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Memorial Student Union Building. Open to current students. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three winners.   

Wednesday, October 19 

  • 5 p.m.: The Fall Carnival will be held on University Boulevard with food and games booths provided by student organizations. 

Thursday, October 20 

  • 7 p.m.: A community concert will be held at the J.K. Northway Exposition Center. The lineups of artists performing are: Mick Cruz, Southern Scarred, Mark McKinney and Brandon Rhyder. Tickets are $15 for students prior to the event and $20 general admission at the door.   

Friday, October 21 

  • 10:30 a.m.: The Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering will celebrate the engineering complex’s 10th anniversary and unveil a new statue of the college’s namesake and long-time engineering dean, Frank H. Dotterweich—a pioneer in natural gas engineering.   
  • 2 p.m.: University tours will begin at the pavilion adjacent to the Memorial Student Union Building. This is the community’s opportunity to view new construction on the university’s campus. The tour will end at the Memorial Student Building Courtyard for the Path of Success Brick Reception immediately following. 
  • 7 p.m.: Jav-A-Pachanga will be held at Mesquite Grove with musical guests Turnpike Troubadours. This is a community-wide celebration in which student organizations and local businesses are welcome to take part as vendors. This event is presented by EmbroidMe. 
  • 7 p.m. The Hog Call and bonfire will be held at the university Intramural Fields near University Boulevard and Corral Avenue. 

Saturday, October 22 

  • 8:15 a.m. Check-in begins in the Memorial Student Union Building courtyard for the 11th Annual Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run. Event begins at 9 a.m. 
  • 11:30 a.m. Distinguished Alumni and one Rising Star honoree will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Luncheon in the ballrooms of the Memorial Student Union Building. The luncheon is presented by IBC Bank. 
  • 2:30 p.m. The Alumni Fajita Cook-off will begin at the tailgate area of Javelina Stadium.  
  • 4 p.m. The Homecoming Tailgate will be held in the tailgate area of Javelina Stadium. 
  • 7 p.m. Kick-off of the Kleberg Bank Homecoming Football Game, pitting the Javelinas against Tarleton State University. Tickets are $10 for sections A and F, $12 for sections B and E, $15 for sections C and D and $18 for box seats in sections C and D. General admission tickets are $5 if purchased online at www.javelinatickets.com or at the ticket office during the week and $7 on game day. Students are free with a valid identification card.
