Summer math camp geared to strengthen skills

The math department at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host Whiz Kids, a summer mathematics camp for students entering fourth and fifth grade this fall.

Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, June 19-23, in room 122 of Rhode Hall on campus. The cost of camp is $75 per student. Mid-morning snacks will be provided. To assure a t-shirt, students must register by Monday, June 5. Final registration is Monday, June 12. Whiz Kids will be limited to 25 students.

The goals of Whiz Kids are to strengthen math skills of the young students through engaging activities and to build mathematical and pedagogical capacity of pre-service teachers studying at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
