An important issue associated with the Eagle Ford Shale activity—pipeline safety—will be the focus of the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Eagle Ford Center for Research, Education and Outreach (EFCREO) Spring Workshop.

The workshop, “Public Awareness of Pipeline Safety”, begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 2 in the City of Cotulla Convention Center at 290 N. IH35 (Access Road) in Cotulla. The workshop is free and open to the public.

Panel discussions featuring researchers and representatives from industry and governmental agencies will focus on an array of topics from pipeline construction, design and inspections, to community planning and first responder preparedness.

The goal of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for elected officials, local governments, emergency responders, school personnel and landowners to increase their knowledge of pipeline safety and public awareness programs.

Event platinum sponsors include NuStar Energy and Access Midstream.
