A 3-day long camp called N-culture-8 was developed to provide college knowledge to incoming freshmen to better prepare them for the challenges facing first-year students. Curriculum included topics to aid in the transition from high school to college, strategies to make good grades, time management, emotional intelligence, discovering individual learning styles, and goal setting. A detailed agenda outlines specific activities that were covered during the camp
Team building and leadership activities were intermingled to encourage students to engage with each other. Relationships were established between incoming freshmen, current undergraduate/graduate students, and faculty during this time which should aid in the transition to college life.
