DEC Makerspace Services


The TAMUK DEC Makerspace Studio, located in Room 306 of the Jernigan Library, is a multipurpose, hands-on learning environment that provides students, faculty, staff, and the community with access to innovative tools and technologies for designing, creating, and prototyping.

The services available are categorized into several areas:

 

Design and Prototyping

 

3D Modeling: 

We can create 3D files for prototypes, product models, and intricate parts for research or academic projects.   

COST: $45/design

Add-on/edits/change of wording: + $9/edit

 

 

File Digitizing:  Cost: $45/design  

  • File Digitizing is provided to prepare custom designs for fabrication.

  • Custom Die-Cut Files: The makerspace can prepare custom die-cut files for decals and stickers.

  • Embroidery Projects: They can digitize your own design and prepare it for the Baby Lock 6-needle Embroidery Machine. 

 

 

Garment Customization: We can prepare your design files for printing on the DTF (direct to film) printer to be used for custom heat transfers.

COST: $45/file

 

 

 

Textiles

  • Basic Sewing Projects: We can do simple, quick fix/repairing sewing jobs, hemming, etc.
