Now that you’re a part of Javelina Nation, here are the next steps on your path to joining us on campus.
Be sure to check your student email address for future communications!


Step 1: Join JNET.

JNET will be your link to the TAMUK community. You will use this portal to register for Hoggie Days, apply for and accept Javelina Scholarships, accept your Financial Aid, register for classes, apply for on-campus housing, pay your tuition and fees, and complete other enrollment tasks.

Use your Student ID (for example, KUABC123) and create a password to join JNET. If you don't know your Student ID, please contact the Blue and Gold Central at 361-593-5372 or email us at bgc@tamuk.edu.


Step 2: Attend Hoggie Days.

All new First-time in college students are required to attend New Student Orientation: Hoggie Days. At Hoggie Days, you will meet your Academic Advisor, advisors will know what courses you need to take, depending on your educational interests, and can help you find the resources you need.


Step 3: Explore your housing options.

Step 4: Apply for Financial Aid.

You are required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for most financial aid programs. The information provided on the FAFSA will help us determine your eligibility for financial aid.

Step 5: Apply for scholarships.

With more than $1M in department scholarships available, Javelina Scholarships takes the guesswork out of discovering what you could qualify for. Just log in to https://tamuk.scholarshipuniverse.com/ using your JNET username and password, answer a few questions, and you’ll be instantly matched with departmental scholarship opportunities tailored just for you.


Step 6: Don't forget to submit the following:

  • Proof of a Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine. All new students are required to obtain and submit proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination or exemption 10 days prior to the first day of classes through the online portal Med+Proctor. If your vaccination has expired or we do not have your vaccination in our records, please expect to receive an invitation email from Med+Proctor to submit your bacterial meningitis record. Med+Proctor is a healthcare technology company that manages the immunization verification process and is an immunization compliance software for universities/colleges. Visit the TAMUK Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirement webpage to learn about the submission process with Med+Proctor. If you have questions about the vaccination requirement or if you already submitted it to Med+Proctor, please call Student Health & Wellness at 361-593-3991.
  • Texas Success Initiatives Scores and/or Exemptions. As an incoming student, you must satisfy the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements unless you qualify for an exemption or waiver. Please visit  https://www.tamuk.edu/tsi/ for more information.
  • AP/CLEP/IBO Scores.
  • Final, official high school and college transcripts. Upon graduation from high school, you must request that a final high school transcript showing graduation date and rank in the class be sent to the Office of Admission.
