Faculty Awards
The CFE is pleased to announce the following recipients of the 2026 Faculty Travel Awards:
- $2,000.00 awarded to Dr. Sajid Liu, Chemistry
The award proposal supports a Spring and Summer 2026 dissemination cycle that advances a connected body of scholarship in chemistry, carbon management, sustainable hydrogen generation, and forensic materials analysis. Through accepted national presentations and additional innovation-focused activity, the proposal will increase TAMUK's research visibility, expand opportunities for external partnerships and bring post-conference insights back to campus through faculty learning and student engagement. - $1,297.00 awarded to Ms. Lydia Hernandez-Perez, Clinical Health Sciences
The award will support conference travel to present a national mixed-methods study examining workload fairness, standardization, and faculty capacity in Communication Sciences and Disorders clinical education. The presentation will advance evidence-based conversations around sustainable workload models, recognition of clinical supervision and documentation, and practices that strengthen faculty support, program quality, and accreditation readiness. - $1,219.25 awarded to Dr. Melinda Brou, School of Music
The award will support two co-presentations that touch on ways to enhance choral programs through use of artificial intelligence and teach directors creative strategies to prepare singers for solo and ensemble contests. - $1,610.00 awarded to Dr. Jingbo Liu, Chemistry
The award supported her presentation of leading-edge research on cost-effective, clay-based carbon management that addressed scientific challenges and strengthened international collaboration at the Pacifichem summit.
