Students Organizations
Our department encourages students to join professional organizations. We host several chapters of national organizations. Student organizations provide you with opportunities to make friends, network with other professional engineers, give back to our communities, and build your resume!

- American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES)
President: Andrea Alfaro
The mission of AAEES is to protect public health by providing professional development for students, engineers, and scientists. It provides a board certification for all environmental engineers. Learn more.
- Water Environment Association of Texas and Texas American Water Works Association (WEAT/TAWWA)
The joint WEAT/TAWWA chapter at our university provides students with professional opportunities by working in close relationship to the joint professional organization in the Coastal Bend region. Learn more.
- Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA)
The Mission of A&WMA is to assist in the professional development and critical environmental decision-making of our members to benefit society. Learn more.
