Housing for Camps

At Texas A&M University - Kingsville, a wide variety of camps, activities and programs are offered on campus during the summer months. Overnight guest housing for groups is available during the summer and reservations are made on space available basis.

Guest Rates

The guest rates are $15.00 per night/per participant at traditional style halls and $22.50 per night/per participant at apartment style residence halls. Persons need to bring their own linens, pillow, towels, blankets, toiletries, etc. There is a $25.00 charge for keys not returned or lost. (more for Lucio Hall residents)

Hall / Room Assignments

Because of the busy summer schedule groups will be assigned according to the availability of space. Room assignments are 2 to a room; Males and females are housed separately; Youths must be chaperoned.


Meals are not included in the room rate cost. Javelina Dining (Aramark) has an exclusive contract to provide all food served on campus. Arrangements for meals should be made with Javelina Dining offices 361-593-3119. Refer to the Camps website for meal prices and other campus dining information.

Hall / University Rules

All guests, regardless of age, are expected to comply with residence hall / university rules during their stay. Fire safety guidelines do not permit cooking in the rooms, the use of certain appliances in the room or us of extension cords (power strips are permitted). Pets are not allowed in the residence halls. No smoking is permitted in the residence halls or in any building on campus. Other rules regarding excessive noise, illegal drugs, alcohol, horseplay, and visitation are in place.

Parking On Campus

Organizers of camps or youth outreach groups are requested to make prior arrangements with the University Police Department (361) 593-2611 for parking for their event and any associated fees.

Use of other residence hall / university facilities

The use of other residence hall / university facilities may be available for rent on a space available basis. Requests should be made in advance with the Residence Life Camps Contact staff member, Victoria Palacios for residence hall facilities (361) 593-4521 or the Event Planning Office (361) 593-4173 for information about other campus facilities.

Supervision of Camp / Youth Outreach Participants

Organizers of camps or youth outreach groups are expected to provide adult staff to supervise their participants at all times. A camp /group staff member must stay on-site with the group (one for males and one for females if applicable) to oversee their program. Residence Life Staff will be available on call and as needed.

Charge for damages or excessive cleaning

The camp or youth outreach group will be charged for damages to, unauthorized use of, or alterations to rooms, equipment or buildings, and for special cleaning necessitated by improper use of its facilities. Administration of the Camp / Youth Outreach Program Once a camp or youth group organizer has confirmed reservations for their group, they are expected to update the Residence Life Office of changes in their anticipated numbers. The organizer should also provide a copy of their schedule and discuss/arrange with Residence Life staff room the assignment process, early arrival/late check out of camp staff if applicable, check-in / check-out process, issuing of room keys and payment arrangements.
