This program is designed for students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career in healthcare. Students will be trained to assist physicians by performing a variety of clinical duties commonly found in medical office settings.
Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, performing routine laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing, assisting with technical aspects of phlebotomy, and understanding the cardiac life cycle. Students will also study key topics such as pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology including proper lead placements, professional workplace behavior, ethics, and the legal aspects of healthcare.
The program includes 150 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory experience.
NCRMA National Certification: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Certified Registered Medical Assistant (NCRMA) exam offered by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
