CSDO Program Goals

Long-Term Goal 1

During the 2025–2026 academic year, the CSDO Program refined experiential learning opportunities related to the administration of standardized assessments. Students participated in structured, hands-on activities in which they learned, practiced, and demonstrated administration of commonly used assessment instruments. Students who did not initially demonstrate the required level of competency received additional opportunities for practice and repeated demonstration.

Student performance was measured across multiple points in the curriculum to evaluate knowledge and skill acquisition. Results demonstrated progressive improvement in students' assessment administration skills, with later measures demonstrating 75% to 90% successful performance. These findings support the value of repeated experiential practice in developing assessment competency.

Based on these results, the Program will continue to refine and expand experiential assessment activities across relevant coursework, with an emphasis on repeated practice, demonstration of competency, and application of assessment knowledge to clinical practice.

Long-Term Goal 2

The CSDO Program will strengthen the graduate program by increasing the variety of cases students’ campus clinical hours include through community outreach.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, the Program continued and expanded its student mentoring initiative, which pairs first-year graduate students with undergraduate CSDO students. Participation in community engagement increased by 41% compared with the previous year, with all first-year graduate students participating in the mentoring initiative. This growth reflects the Program’s continued efforts to provide meaningful opportunities for student engagement and experiential learning.

Based on these outcomes, the Program will continue the mentoring initiative and other community engagement opportunities during the upcoming academic year.
