The English Club is dedicated to the study and promotion of the English language and culture. The club provides a fun, relaxing environment to appreciate the English literary cultural production. The English Club sponsors the "Blabbermouth Event," a monthly open mic event which aims to showcase original writing and music by TAMUK students, faculty, staff, affiliates and broader Kingsville community.

English Club meetings take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young’s Pizza or in Cousins Hall, Room 212, on the third Tuesday of the month during the academic calendar.

The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Sigma Delta Pi chapter is the key to your success. It is the only annual National Hispanic Honor Society. It offers a wide range of activities, both academic and social. Our organization relies on strong ties with the university and its students to create a learning environment through Hispanic culture in the South Texas area.

Sigma Delta Pi meetings are every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Fore Hall Blue Room 206.

Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, was founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University. We strive to promote interest in literature and the English language. Our goal is to advance all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing. We also aim to serve our society by fostering literacy.

Sigma Tau Delta meetings are held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young’s Pizza or in Cousins Hall, Room 212, on the third Tuesday of the month during the academic calendar. 

Meeting times may change based on the membership and their ability to attend the scheduled meetings.

Sigma Tau Delta always has fun with many activities, such as literary film festivals, monthly colloquiums, semester celebration dinners and induction ceremonies, and trips to archives of famous writers at The Harry Ransom Center in Austin. We also serve our local community with service projects, like the children’s library we built for the local after-school program here in Kingsville.

On an international level, Sigma Tau Delta offers opportunities for conference presentations at the annual convention, publication opportunities through their journals, editing internships at publishing houses in New York City, and many scholarship opportunities.

Membership in Sigma Tau Delta is by invitation, extended through a local chapter on behalf of the international organization. Students who qualify for membership must apply through the chapter on their campus. Once a student contacts the local chapter, the Sponsor will check the qualifications and, if approved, recommend that student for membership.
