Dr. Chika Yamamoto Rosenbaum (山本知佳)

Assistant Professor of Political Science

Chika was born and raised in Japan. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Along with the degrees, she earned graduate certificates in Security Studies from UTSA and Geographic Information Science (GIS) at Mizzou. Her research focuses on the Political Economy of Free Trade Agreements especially in East Asia (Japan, Korea), Regionalism, and International Relations between China, Japan, Korea, and the United States. She has published her research in scholarly journals including Asian Survey, Asian Politics and Policy, Korea Observer, and Strategic Studies Quarterly. She teaches (and will teach) World Politics, American Politics, Texas Politics, and Research and Data Analysis. In addition, she’s been working on the creation of a Model United Nations program either in a form of a Special Studies course or student organization as well as the creation of International Studies Program in Japan.
