Admission to MSW


Requirements for the MSW Clinical/Activist Program

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. The undergraduate education should reflect a sound liberal arts foundation, including courses in the humanities, the social and behavior sciences, and biological sciences. The program does not grant social work course credit for life experience or previous work experience.

Applicants must have an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0. Advanced Standing candidates must have a 3.2 GPA in the social work major and hold a BSW from a CSWE accredited program. In special circumstances, these requirements may be waived by the Admission Committee.

The program does not require or consider the GRE in admissions decisions.

Admitted applicants must confirm in writing their intention to enroll in the program. This confirmation should be emailed to Dr. Robert Villa, MSW Clinical/Activist Program Director.

Application Priority Date

The deadline for receipt of all admission materials is July 1, 2021. Late submissions may be considered if space allows. The Social Work program reserves the right to modify the application deadline and requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page.
