Javelina Preview Days Tips for a Campus Visit
Tips for a Campus Visit
1. Bring plenty of questions.
The admissions counselors enjoy answering questions about academics, student life, sports, entertainment, and just about anything else. You really get the most out of your visit by speaking up and asking questions!
2. Have a major in mind.
We offer classroom visits and meetings with departments on campus. Take advantage of the opportunity to experience a lecture or visit with a professor in your intended area of study during the program.
3. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Texas weather is usually warm; however, we recommend checking the forecast and dressing appropriately. Wearing layers is a good strategy. You'll be covering a lot of ground on your visit, so comfortable shoes are a must!
4. Don't forget to visit with the Financial Aid office!
Talk with a financial aid officer about FAFSA deadlines and available scholarships. Ask questions on how to apply, and also what financial aid options are available for your family. This will ensure you start your year off without unnecessary worries.
5. Unsure about which visit option is best for you? Don't hesitate to call!
