This site was established to furnish the university community with greater access to the numerous resources and services that our office provides.

FUNCTION:

The Environmental Health and Safety Office will provide administrative guidance for the university's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program. Through the efforts of the staff of this office and the Department of Enterprise Risk Management, policies, plans, and activities will be developed to ensure that facilities are up-to-date, safe, operate to the expectation of the facility users, and are in compliance with state and federal regulations.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The establishment and maintenance of an academic environment free of occupational hazards, and compliance with environmental regulations are both ethical and legal responsibilities of the University.

In this regard, the environmental health and safety program at Texas A&M University Kingsville is managed by the Environmental Health & Safety Office under the guidance of the Department of Enterprise Risk Management. Our goals are to minimize occupational injuries to university employees, minimize personal injuries to the university community and to minimize losses and/or damage to university property.

The Environmental Health & Safety Office will strive to meet these goals through employee health and safety training, through on-site inspections, and through compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations.
