Incoming Freshman

You must register for our new student orientation, "Hoggie Days". At the orientation you will be able to meet your advisor, build a schedule and work with many other offices (financial aid, housing, business office) to prepare you for your first semester at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Current Freshman and Sophomores

You will need to meet with an advisor prior to registering for courses each semester. An Advising HOLD will be placed on your registration until you meet with your advisor.

Juniors and Seniors

Students over 60 hours are typically advised by a faculty advisor. Here is that information, by department.

Department of Teacher and Bilingual Education (TBED)

Juniors: You will meet with your advisor prior to applying for and beginning the Educator Preparation Program. Upon acceptance into the Educator Preparation Program, students are assigned a faculty advisor who will guide the student through graduation.

Department of Health & Kinesiology (EC-12)

All students will meet with their academic advisor and will need the Department of Health and Kinesiology Checklist form with Signatures, prior to applying for the Educator Preparation Program. Upon acceptance into the Educator Preparation Program, students should schedule an advising appointment with their academic advisor to receive proper instruction and signatures for the program.

  • Academic Advisor (0-30 hrs.): Reagan Morreale
  • Academic Advisor (30+ hrs.): Sarah Ramos

Non-certification degree plans in Health & Kinesiology

All students will meet with a freshman/sophomore advisor from 0-60 hours. Upon completion of 60 hours students will meet with a junior/ senior advisor until graduation

How do I meet with an advisor?

College of Education and Human Performance (CEHP) advisors meet with students either on a walk-in basis or by appointment. There are a few days each year (such as freshman orientation) when the advisors are busy, so we encourage you to schedule an appointment with each advisor to avoid waiting or not being seen.

Graduate Students

Graduate students are advised by faculty members in their program areas. Please contact your department for more information.
