Texas A&M-Kingsville Music Alumni Association
Greetings Javelina Music Alumni!
Welcome home! We’re glad that you’ve stopped by our new music alumni webpage and we hope you will share this site address with other music alumni. We are trying to reach out to music alumni to keep you better informed about what is going on at the TAMUK Music Department. We are developing a new Music Department webpage and we hope that it will provide you with plenty of information about our programs, students, faculty, and ensemble accomplishments. By keeping you better informed about our activities, we hope that you will become more involved in our music program through your presence at our concerts and events. Please consider this your personal invitation to come back home to Kingsville for a visit!
Great things are continuing to happen in the TAMUK Music Department. In fall 2010, we have experienced the largest music major enrollment in the school’s history – 265 majors! We have recently acquired some additional facilities in the western third of the HREC Building (Old Gym) that include a new large rehearsal hall, 5 faculty offices, 10 student practice rooms, and storage spaces. Our university president, Dr. Steven Tallant, is leading an initiative to acquire funding to build a new music building. The request for funding will go to the Texas Legislature in their next session in 2011.
So, please come and get involved! We would love to hear from you and welcome you back to Kingsville. Great things are happening on campus and we sincerely hope that you will attend some of our concerts and events.
With warmest regards,
Paul Hageman, Chair
