Career Services

The mission of the Career Services is to educate and empower a diverse body of students to achieve personal growth, development and lifelong career success.

Career Services was the first department that really helped me with transitioning from what an employer expects of a high school graduate versus a college student. Having my resume reviewed and taking part in practice interviews made me stand out against other applicants for internships. Because of Career Services help, I received an internship with USDA-NRCS in Puerto Rico and in Texas during the summer of 2020.

Career Services was a huge help and huge inspiration when it came to my resume reconstruction. They always gave me valuable feedback and were hands on when we would meet. Career Services as a whole helped me better prepare myself for my future. I cannot wait to see where life takes me after graduation!

De'Stini Henderson, Master of Business Administration student graduating May 2020

As a first generation student, one of my biggest challenges was figuring out how to transition into my career field after college. Career Services provided all the tools necessary such as learning to network, polishing my resume and cover letter, preparing me for online and face to face interviews, negotiating my offer letter, and providing encouragement among many other services.
