Taylor Pena named Student Employee of the Year at Texas A&M-Kingsville

KINGSVILLE April 15, 2024) — Taylor Pena, Student Health and Wellness assistant, is the 2024 Texas A&M University-Kingsville Student Employee of Year. She has been working with Student Health and Wellness since September 2021. She is a computer science major from Skidmore who will graduate in May. Pena received a monetary award from the President's Office for this achievement.

 

Her nominators highlighted the professionalism, teamwork, and critical thinking skills that she possesses. "Taylor is a great asset to our team and will make an excellent entry level professional because of her vast experiences and trainings she has received on behalf of Student Health and Wellness. She is a competent, articulate, and diligent worker which is the key to success in the workforce.”

 

“We would like to congratulate Taylor for her contributions to Texas A&M-Kingsville. She is an outstanding example of an amazing group of student employees who are key to our operations,” said Ralph Leal, SPHR, director of career services and corporate relations.

 

Career Engagement coordinated the selection process for Student Employee of the Year to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of the undergraduate students who work on campus. The nominations review committee consisted of representatives from three campus offices who referenced the National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE) Career Competencies to select a finalist.
