Texas A&M-Kingsville among top five public schools in 2023 Payscale College Salary Report

KINGSVILLE (February 26, 2024) — The salary earning potential of Texas A&M University-Kingsville graduates ranks the highest of all public university graduates in South Texas, according to Payscale’s College Salary Report for 2023. The rankings place Texas A&M University-Kingsville as the 5th public university in the state in terms of salary potential. The University ranks 12th overall in Texas, including both public and private institutions.

The list ranks schools by the salaries of alumni who have received bachelor’s degrees and depicts median salary for Early Career Pay (alumni with 0-5 years of experience) and Mid-Career Pay (Alumni with 10-plus years of experience).

The report also listed Percentage of High-Meaning (percentage of alumni who say their work makes the world a better place) and Percentage of STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) degrees awarded. For Texas A&M-Kingsville graduates, 61% said they believe their work makes the world a better place—the highest High-Meaning ranking of among both public and private institutions in the top 15. In addition, 35% of TAMUK degrees awarded are in a STEM field, placing the university among the top 3 institutions in STEM graduates in the state.

Texas A&M-Kingsville is ranked on the list only behind Texas A&M University, The University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech and The University of Houston.

The Payscale 2023 College Salary Report includes more than 1,700 eligible bachelor’s degree granting schools in the United States, as well as 98% of schools with more than 5,000 undergraduate enrollment.
