Texas A&M-Kingsville Reader's Theatre presents Irma Rangel: The First

KINGSVILLE (April 28, 2023) — The public is invited to a production of the Reader’s Theatre at Texas A&M University-Kingsville about the life and accomplishments of the late Irma Lerma Rangel, former Texas Representative. Irma Rangel: The First will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, May 2-3, in The Little Theatre. Admission is free.

 

The production is directed by Dr. Patrick Faherty, associate professor in the art, communications and theatre (ACT) department. It is based on an article by Dr. Manuel Flores, professor in the ACT department, and an oral history conducted by Distinguished Alumnus Dr. Jose Angel Gutierrez.

 

The performance celebrates the life and accomplishments of Tejana heroine and legendary Texas State Representative Rangel.
