Texas A&M-Kingsville named Weather-Ready Nation

Texas A&M University-Kingsville has been named a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador™ by the National Weather Service, said Dr. Shane Creel, CSP,CFE, CCEP, executive director of Enterprise Risk Management.

To receive this designation, Texas A&M-Kingsville staff collaborated with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on improving the nation’s readiness, responsiveness and overall resilience against extreme weather, water and climate events.

As a WRN Ambassador, partners commit to working with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather. The initiative helps unify the efforts across government, non-profits, academia and private industry toward making the nation more ready, responsive and resilient against extreme environmental hazards.

Texas A&M-Kingsville has been a StormReady® campus since August 2011.
