Admission and New Student Orientation

Orientation FAQs

Yes, Freshman and Transfer students are required to pay an orientation fee of $25.

All first-time students coming to campus for the first time are encouraged, but not required, to complete the “Additional Online Modules.”  Students who complete the “Additional Online Modules” will be entered into a drawing to win prizes, as well as have the opportunity to visit with their Academic Advisor before students who have not completed them.

All new students are required to participate in our in-person Hoggie Days: New Student Orientation. Orientation is designed to help you feel comfortable and confident on our campus when you start your classes. We believe that orientation is a vital part of transitioning into university life.

**Please keep in mind that all new students will be assessed the mandatory orientation fee regardless of participation.

After registering online for orientation, you will receive an email confirming your registration.  You may email us at orientation@tamuk.edu for more information.

You can register for orientation by logging into JNet using your Student ID (for example, KUABC123). For instructions on how to register online, please visit the Registration Instructions page of this web site.

Reverse Transfer is a means by which a student may receive an associate's degree after transferring from a 2-year, lower division institution of higher education to a 4-year institution in Texas. The student's current academic transcript is forwarded to the 2-year institution and reviewed to see if that student has become eligible for the associate's degree.
