Employee Tuition Assistance Program

Texas A&M University - Kingsville is proud to provide access to high-quality benefits that support your professional and educational goals. The University encourages you to pursue higher education to enrich your lives and help Texas A&M develop the highest quality workforce.

Eligible employees must be admitted as a degree-seeking student to Texas A&M through the Office of Admissions.

Employee Fee Assistance Scholarship

Pay Bump

Full-time permanent staff, who have earned a degree from an accredited institution in December 2019, May 2020, or August 2020, qualify for the Texas A&M University- Kingsville Educational Achievement Award. 

The employee must have a performance evaluation on file with an overall rating of meeting or exceeding expectations and a written request for the appropriate educational achievement.  The request must be submitted to Henry Burgos, Executive Director of Human Resources, through the Provost, Vice President of the most senior division administrator. 

The memo, and a copy of the employee’s transcript, must be received no later than Friday, August 7, 2020, for the Office of Employee Services to process the increase by the effective date of September 1, 2020.

The salary adjustments are based on the salary in effect on 30 August 2020 and will be consistent with the educational achievement levels described below. Please note that there will be no retroactive awards for transcripts that are submitted after the 7 August 2020 deadline.

Educational Achievement Award amounts:

  1. Bachelor’s degree: +3%
  2. Master’s degree: +4%
  3. Doctorate: +5%

The University’s Employee Tuition Assistance (employee fee assistance scholarship) will remain unchanged and available to employees who enroll for courses at Texas A&M University- Kingsville. All employees are encouraged to discuss with their supervisor's potential professional development opportunities that strengthen and expand the skill set currently required of their position or field. Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

As an employee of Texas A&M University - Kingsville, you are considered a state government employee who may be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Please click the blue button below for more information on the qualifications for this benefit.

Retirement Programs (TDA/DCP)

You have a choice of additional optional retirement plans which are intended to supplement your mandatory retirement plan (TRS or ORP) as a Texas A&M University System employee. More information can be found on the  Retirement Programs website.

Periodically, our retirement vendors post-financial webinars about saving for retirement, asset planning, and more. Vendor websites are also located on the Retirement Programs website. 

Identity Protection through Blue Cross Blue Shield

BCBS offers identity protection services free of charge to current eligible Blue Cross members and their covered dependents enrolled in a Blue Cross health plan (excluding the Graduate Student Employee Health Plan). 

These services are provided through Experian as long as you remain employed by (or are retired from) the A&M System and are enrolled in one of the A&M Care Plans. You are not automatically enrolled in these identity protection services. You must sign up with Experian.

Enroll by logging into your MyEvive account to access your Blue Access for Members (BAM) account.
Then click on Identity Protection under the Quick Links and follow the instructions.

There are two different plans, as described below:

ProtectMyID

Employees, retirees, dependent spouses, and dependent children age 18 and over enroll
independently through ProtectMyID for services that include:

  • An Experian Credit Report upon sign up
  • Choice of email or mail delivery
  • Comprehensive educational resources
  • Daily 1-Bureau credit monitoring
  • U.S.-based customer support 7 days a week
  • Online and phone enrollment
  • $1 million identity theft insurance
  • A fraud resolution team

Family Secure

Once you have enrolled in ProtectMyID, the parent or legal guardian can enroll
dependent children under the age of 18 through Family Secure for services that include:

  • An Experian report upon enrollment
  • Monitoring children’s personal information for the existence of a credit file
  • $2 million product guarantee
  • A Fraud resolution service

  1. Access The Hartford’s EstateGuidance® Will Services online.
  2. Sign in to the secure site by entering the access code.
  3. Follow the instructions and create your will.
  4. Download the final will to your computer and print.
  5. Obtain signatures and determine if your will should be notarized.
