What if legendary French playwright and actor Molière was alive and well, and had to perform his greatest comedic plays all by himself?

That’s the premise of Molière than Thou, a unique, energetic show from Timothy Mooney, who has adapted Molière’s works of ingenious satire and delivered them to audiences around the country.

This free public performance takes place at 7 p.m. Monday, March 5 in the Little Theatre.

Doors are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Mooney moves his one-person performance through School for Wives, Bourgeois Gentleman, Tartuffe, Scapin and Precious Young Maidens with surprising ease, constantly employing – some say exploiting – members of the audience as his scene partners and objects of attention.

His performance is literate, enthusiastic, and athletic. The play won a “Best of” award from the San Francisco Fringe Festival, and was listed first of the “Top Ten Artistic Events of 2006” from the Chattanooga Pulse.
