Academic Test Preparation Programs


Currently all Test Prep Tutoring will be virtual.

Test Prep: ACT, SAT, TSI, GED, GRE

Texas A&M University-Kingsville understands the vital role these exams play on a student's future. Properly prepared students are more likely to perform to their highest potential and Test Preparation at TAMUK is here to assist students in the South Texas area to meet their potential through our Academic Test Prep Programs. Our learning Test Prep Programs offer intensive classroom training in a variety of formats that work best for each individual student’s learning style.

ACT: Your ACT composite score, together with your high school grades, indicates how prepared you are for college. In addition, the scores from the various sections of the ACT will help your college place you in the right classes, matching your skills with course requirements.

SAT: The SAT is designed to assess your academic readiness for college. This exam provides a path to opportunities, financial support, and scholarships, in a way that's fair to all students. The SAT keeps pace with what colleges are looking for today, measuring the skills required for success in the 21st century.

GRE: GRE scores are used to assess the suitability of applicants for graduate-level study across many different subject areas. Some departments may ask applicants to take one of the GRE Subject Tests, while others require the General Test. The Subject Tests assess knowledge in a particular field, while the General Test assesses verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing.

GED: GED measure proficiency in science, mathematics, social studies, reading, and writing. Passing the GED test gives those who do not complete high school, or who do not meet requirements for high school diploma, the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency credential, also called a high school equivalency diploma, general equivalency diploma a high-school degree awarded by a series of examinations.

TSI: The purpose of the new examination is to assess your academic ability in order to correctly identify your course sequence. The TSI Assessment will determine your preparation level for the subjects of reading, writing, and math. 

Cost is $20/hr. All programs have a non-refundable registration fee added to the total program costs. Please pay via eMarkets or come by our office, Cousins Hall Room 206.

In order to reserve a spot for the program, the participant's first session must be paid for in advance.

  • Online Registration – Once the online registration form has been submitted, your browser will re-direct you to the medical waiver form. Once both forms have been submitted, your browser will redirect you to Marketplace for payment. In order to reserve your seat in the class, please register at your earliest convenience.
  • Payment – All payments will only be accepted online through Marketplace. *We only accept credit/debit cards and/or checks.   

A $15.00 non-refundable registration fee is added per program to the total costs during payment checkout.
