Javelina Rebound

Javelina Nation is helping our students REBOUND from the continued impacts of the pandemic, removing the financial barriers to their success.

Our latest program—the HEERF III Emergency Grant Application—opens on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. All enrolled students, including international and DACA students, are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for up to $1,500 in emergency grant funding. These grants can be used to help students with any component of their cost of attendance or emergency costs related to the pandemic. Students can apply for funds to help with tuition, food, housing, health and mental health care, and child care.

These emergency grants utilize support from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF III) through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

As per HEERF regulations, priority must be given to students with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell Grants. Students can apply online on the Main Menu of their Blue and Gold Account under the HEERF III Emergency Grant Application (COVID-19) beginning Tuesday, August 17, 2021. The application will only be available for three weeks and students will be notified of the status of their application through their university email within 30 days of their submission.

We're dedicated to helping our students rebound with initiatives and additional services designed to help Javelina Nation get back to the classroom and campus life. The first step for the Fall 2021 semester was the Javelina Rebound Debt Reduction Program which was designed to alleviate some of the financial stress many of our students are facing. The program cleared outstanding institutional debt students may have acquired during Summer 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, clearing the way for Fall 2021 enrollment.
