Caleb’s life is simple, and consists of going to school, going to work, going home, and going to sleep. If given the option to do anything in the entire world, sleeping would be his choice. Marissa Carabajal CSDO & Writing LAC Tutor BS Communication Sciences & Disorders This is Marissa’s third year here at the university and she is currently majoring in communication science and disorders with a minor in psychology. Changing and leaving an impact on someone’s life is her passion, and she hopes to one day be a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. For the year 2013, Marissa is the President of Theta Phi Alpha sorority, and when she is not doing volunteer work or spending time with her sorority sisters, she enjoys exercising, raising her Shih Tzu, and catching up on her favorite TV series. |

Rosa Cordova Reading & Writing LAC Tutor BS Criminology & Spanish Rosa is a graduating senior double majoring in criminology and Spanish, with a psychology minor on the side. She speaks fluent English and Spanish and is a first generation college student from Brownsville, Texas. She has been part of the writing team since fall 2011 and enjoys every aspect of her job. The best part of her job as a tutor is knowing that she is able to help her peers by giving them confidence as writers. Rosa is a friendly person who loves meeting new people and volunteering as much as she can. Aside from her tutoring job, she is or has been involved in many campus organizations: Student Government, JCrew, C.H.A.M.P., PEP Talk, Spanish Honor Society and CAB. Trevor Pesek LAC Math & Science Tutor BS Kinesiology Trevor Pesek is from Inez, Texas. He came to Texas A&M University-Kingsville on a football scholarship. He has played two years of college football and still has two years left to play. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2012 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education and Human Performance. Trevor is now working on his master’s degree in exercise science pre physical therapy. He plans to continue on to physical therapy school and become a physical therapist. Trevor is also a certified personal trainer and loves working out and playing sports with his friends. His other hobbies consist of going two stepping with his fiancé, playing catch with his dog, Annabell, and playing video games. |

Ahmed De Alba LAC Math & Science Tutor BA Mathematics Ahmed, an international student from Saltillo, Coahuila (Mexico), is a sophomore who is double majoring in mathematics and actuarial science. Ahmed enjoys working out, reading, writing and not surprisingly, solving math problems. He is an exercise group instructor for the recreation center and a cheerleader for the university. He expects to work for an insurance or private company in the future after graduating. |

Aziel Del Rio History First Year Javelina SI Leader BA History Aziel Del Rio was born in Eagle Pass, Texas. Aziel is 20 years old and has lived in Eagle Pass for most of his life. Aziel graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 2010. In the fall of 2010, Aziel started college at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. His major is history social studies composite with teaching certification. Aziel plans to become a history teacher at a high school when he graduates from college. Aziel is involved with different organizations at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He is the vice-president of the Robert J. Kleberg History Club and the secretary of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. He is also an Honors College student at the university. Aziel has made the President’s List, Dean’s List, and Honor Roll List as a student at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Aziel has different hobbies. One of the things he enjoys the most is playing soccer. He also enjoys watching movies and likes to hang out with his friends. Aziel is a hard working person who always wants to succeed in everything that he does. |

Carlos Gonzales History First Year Javelina SI Leader BA History Carlos Gonzales was born in Corpus Christi, but lived in Beeville, Texas for most of his life. He is a senior double majoring in History and Political Science and has attended TAMUK since fall of 2009. He is an avid enthusiast of both History and Political Science and aspires to be successful in either field. Working for Residence Life was fun, it was a good job but when he was hired as a FYJSI leader he eventually decided to drop the Residence Life job and focused on being a FYJSI leader. When he is not studying, reading, or doing homework he watches movies and TV, listens to all different types of music, and plays bass guitar in a local university band. |

Cristoval Castillo LAC Math & Science Tutor MS Electrical Engineering Cris is a second year graduate student in electrical engineering. Having earned his undergraduate degree in physics while completing the Air Force ROTC curriculum at Southwest Texas State University, he went active duty as a commissioned officer. After a few tours of duty, his final one was with the Air Force Research Laboratory. Now a veteran, he has returned to school in order to better understand and work with sensor networks and wireless communication systems. His career goal is to return to the federal government in defense, security, or space exploration. When not working for the LAC on homework or research, he enjoys cooking, listening to rock and metal music, most movies and video games, and mastering karate. |

Lydia Tanner LAC Math & Science Tutor BS Architectural Engineering Lydia is a third year architectural engineering major with a minor in mathematics. She is also working on a certification in both Facilities Management and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Lydia enjoys catching the university sports games in her free time. She also likes to engage in outdoor activities and spend time with her friends when she can break away from her studies. |
