The Baptist Student Ministry
is a student organizationwhose
mission is to share the love of
God.
“Even though I am new to
the BSM, it has definitely been a
big part ofme this semester. I
have met many newpeople,
made somany newfriends, and
most importantly, I have become
closer tomy faith,” said
Ivan Santos.
At the beginning of the fall
semester, the BSM hosts the annual
Root Beer Fest. Students
are given the chance to play
games, drink root beer, and get
a free t-shirt while getting to
know fellow students that go to
the BSM.
“My favorite part was the
root beer-who doesn’t like free
root beer? Aside from that, it
was an ice breaker for a chance
to meet new people and networkwith
others of different
areas of study,” said Raul Reyes.
In October, a group of students
from the BSM go to a student missions
conference called
FOCUS where students learn
about different mission opportunities
that the students can be
involved in.
“One of my most cherished
memories was during the
evening worship when one of
our freshmen accepted Christ
and I was present when it happened,”
said Stephen Yates.
“This made the entire weekend
an epic weekend.”
During spring break, a group
of students travel to South
Padre Island to participate in
Beach Reach to take care of fellow students
partying on the
beach.
“My favorite part of Beach
Reachwas seeing my best
friends at South Padre. I got to
pray with them, and they saw
the newme,” said Santos.
The BSM is located across
the street from Manning Hall.
