with Advisor Misty

CAB provides all the entertainment
for the university
throughout the year.
CAB helps sponsor a variety
of different student activities
throughout the year.
Along with new board
members, Campus Activity
Board has also added new
chairs to their constitution
such as: marketing, historian
and treasurer.
“The Campus Activity
Board is setting goals and
re-building their foundation
so that they can build from
this year,” said Tavarez.
“CAB has grown from
seven to 70 in membership
from Fall 2008- Spring
2009”.
They started with seven
members at the Fall Carnival
and by Spring Break;
CAB was at a record high of
70 in membership.
“Seventy members has
been the highest that CAB
has ever had since its existence”
said Guerra.
Guerra, who was recently
elected the presidential
position towards the
end of Spring 2009, has a lot
of confidence in her board
members who have taken
their desired positions.
Guerra believes that in
order for CAB to succeed
beyond their potential, they
must work together as one
and execute in the positions
that they hold.
She says that the interviews
and elections that
took place for the cabinet
helped CAB find the right
people for the job.
She hopes to bring in attractions
such as: big concerts,
talk shows and other
events.
Her focus for her organization
is to get recognition
for CAB for the many
things that they host such
as: Spring Fling, Singled
Out and Fall Carnival.
Tavarez and Guerra
agree that a more polished
approach would help them
establish a better relationship
between the student
body and the campus activity
board.
“We have such a diverse
student body,” Tavarez
said. “We need to make
sure we get all sides of it”.
