Course Schedule Admission Requirements

ADMISSION

Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Students
Students who have not previously attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville must submit the following:

  1. Application for admission and admission fee ($15)
  2. Official transcript from:
    a. High school (beginning freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 12 semester credit hours)
    b. College (official transcripts from each college attended)
  3. ACT or SAT scores (beginning freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 12 semester credit hours. Students 25 years of age or older are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores.)
  4. Immunization records are recommended.
  5. Texas Success Initiative (TSI) scores must be submitted before registration.

Admission Requirements for Graduate Students

The following credentials are required:

  1. Application for admission and application fee ($35)
  2. Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended
  3. Test scores
  4. Immunization records are recommended.

Readmission for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Students who previously attended Texas A&M-Kingsville and who allowed their degree status to lapse for any of the following reasons must apply for readmission. The reasons include:

  1. Completing requirements for a degree,
  2. Voluntarily interrupting enrollment for more than two years or
  3. Involuntarily interrupting enrollment for one or more long semesters because of grade deficiencies. 
    If the student has registered for classes at another institution since being enrolled at Texas A&M-Kingsville, complete transcripts for all work attempted must be submitted at the time of application. Otherwise, the student may be involuntarily withdrawn.

Application Fees

U.S. citizens who apply for undergraduate admission to Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be charged an application fee of $15. The international student application fee is $50. U.S. citizens who apply for graduate admission to Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be charged an application fee of $35.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI)

Beginning fall 2003, the TSI is required by Texas law before enrollment in collegiate-level courses. The university requires a TSI assessment score of 230 on the reading, 220 on the writing, and a score of 270 on the math in order to exempt students from developmental studies in these respective areas. High ACT, SAT, or TAAS/TAKS may exempt a student from TSI, unless the student is pursuing teacher certification. Contact the TSI coordinator at 361-593-3308 with any questions.
