HOUSING OCCUPANCY SHOWS STEADY, POSITIVE RISE
A record number of students are currently living in the residence halls. The Campus Housing Office processed 1,377 housing reservations for the Fall Semester. At the start of the semester, 1,246 residents moved in to the residence halls. This was an increase of 116 students when compared to fall 2000 figures and also marks the second year in a row that there has been an increase in hall occupancy. The increase in housing reservations prompted housing to use all available rooms in the residence halls including those that had been designated for other purposes (i.e., guest rooms, viewing rooms, staff storage rooms, RA rooms, and rooms set aside for physically challenged students that were not in use). As a result of withdrawals during the semester, the residence hall population currently stands at 1,230 students.
