About the Vice President

Dr. Remelius

Dr. Terisa Remelius has served as vice president for student affairs since July 2007. She came to Texas A&M-Kingsville from the University of South Dakota, where she served as the assistant vice president of student services and dean of students.

She also has professional experience with Saint Louis University, Greenville College (Illinois), Central Methodist College (Missouri) and the Affton and Lindbergh School Districts (Missouri). She also has served on the graduate faculties of the University of South Dakota and Saint Louis University, teaching courses in higher education administration and serving on dissertation committees.

Remelius has served in leadership roles with a number of professional organizations. Currently, she is on the Board of the Center for Women of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and on the Research Committee, Publications Committee and Conference Planning Committee of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs. She also is a member of the Association of College Personnel Administrators, American Educational Research Association and the Association for the Study of Higher Education.

She was named “Outstanding New Professional” in 1993 by NASPA’s Region IV-West and served as the Chair for Publications and Promotions for the regional conference in 2005. She also served as NASPA’s National Chair of the Women in Student Affairs Knowledge Community from 2004-2006.
