TAMU-SA and ACCD reach an agreement to create TEAMSA in order to better serve students seeking a four year degree

October 10, 2008

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- TAMU-SA and Alamo Colleges have created the TEAMSA program, designed to facilitate degree completion for AC students who have chosen to pursue a Bachelor's degree at the Texas A&M System campus in San Antonio.

The program streamlines the transfer of credit between the institutions as students complete both an Associate's degree at an AC campus and a Bachelor's degree at TAMUSA.

The program supports both traditional transfer from the community college to the university level as well as offers a co-enrollment option for students who have received 30 hours of academic credit at an AC college.

On hand to sign the agreement formalizing the program were Texas A&M University Chancellor Dr. Michael D. McKinney, M.D., Alamo Community Colleges Chancellor Dr. Bruce H. Leslie, TAMUSA Interim President Maria Hernandez Ferrier, and TAMUSA Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Carolyn Green.
