Amy K. Dicke Bohmann, Ph.D. earned a B.A. degree in Psychology and Spanish at Texas Lutheran College, and then earned her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Texas Tech University (1997) in Experimental Psychology, with a major in Social Psychology and an emphasis in Quantitative Methods. Her dissertation covers optimism and romantic relationships.
Dr. Bohmann has taught Psychology at William Tyndale College, Texas Lutheran University, and St. Mary’s University. She has also taught as an adjunct in the Wayland Baptist University Counseling masters program. In 2008, Dr. Bohmann joined A&M-San Antonio, and teaches Statistics, Experimental Psychology, Social Psychology, and other related courses.
Dr. Bohmann is a member of the Southwestern Psychological Association, and has been a member of both APA and APS. Her research areas include many areas of romantic relationships, including optimism, alcohol abuse, cohabitation, and relationship breakup. She has also studied problem-solving in dyads and alarmism.
