Voluntary Retirement Programs
Texas A&M University-San Antonio offers two voluntary programs to supplement your mandatory retirement (TRS or ORP). The Tax-Deferred Account (TDA) program and the Texa$aver Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) are available to all Texas A&M University-San Antonio employees (faculty, staff, and student workers), both full-time and part-time.

Texa$aver Deferred Compensation Plan is a voluntary program in which you make pre-tax contributions. This is a defined contribution plan under IRS Code 457(b) which you decide how to utilize your account balance upon retirement. The Employee Retirement System of Texas (ERS) administers this plan through Great West.
To enroll, you need to go to www.Texasaver.com and select the 457 plan. The website contains instructions on how to enroll. You may also reach a representative directly at (800)-634-5091.
Tax-Deferred Account Program is a voluntary program in which you make pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) contributions. This is a defined contribution plan under the IRS Code 403(b) which you decide how to utilize you account balance upon retirement.
To enroll, you need to complete HR Form 17 (TDA Salary Reduction Agreement) and turn it in to the Human Resources Department. You can use the same form to change vendors at any time. Your vendor will ask you to complete a vendor application as well.
Texas A&M University System–approved vendor list for TDA is provided below. You may actively contribute up to two TDA vendors.
Once you are enrolled, please return all documents to the Human Resources Department.
