The Texas A&M University-Kingsville (School
Code: 003639) Military Science Scholarship
Program is designed to provide financial assistance for quality students who
have achieved academic excellence. To help you meet these rising costs of
education, Army ROTC offers a variety of scholarship, awarded strictly on merit
and grades, not financial need. These scholarships include:

Green-To-Gold Scholarships
- These
Scholarships pay:
- Tuition and mandatory educational fees.
- A specific amount for miscellaneous fees such as
laboratory, student activity, transcript and graduation fees.
- A flat rate for textbooks, classroom supplies and
equipment.
- A stepped monthly STIPEND.

Four-Year Scholarships
You may be eligible for a four-year scholarship
if you are preparing to enter college as a freshman and meet the following
qualifications/requirements:
- Be
a United States Citizen.
- Be
17 years old before the scholarship is effective.
- Take
the SAT or ACT no later than November of the year you apply (must have a
minimum 920 SAT score or composite 19 ACT score).
- Have
good high school grades.
- Participate
in leadership, extracurricular and athletic activities. (Students with
part-time jobs will be given substitute credit.)
- Be
under 31 years old on December 31 of the year you expect to graduate and
receive your officer's commission.
- Be
a high school graduate or have equivalent credit.
- Pursue
an Army approved academic major.
- Agree to accept a commission as either a Regular
Army Officer, Army National Guard Officer, or U.S. Army Reserve Officer.
- Meet
required physical standards.

Three-Year Scholarships
You may be eligible for a three-year scholarship
if you have already completed one semester of college.
In addition, You must
meet the following qualifications/requirements:
- Meet
the same citizenship, age and physical requirements listed for the
four-year scholarship.
- Meet
the required cumulative grade point average in all academic courses.
- Have
at least a score of 920 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT.
- Be
recommended by the Professor of Military Science.

Two-Year Scholarships
You may be eligible for a two-year scholarship
if you have already completed at least two years of college.
In addition, You must
meet the following qualifications/requirements:
- Meet
the same citizenship, age and physical requirements listed for the
four-year scholarship.
- Meet
the required cumulative grade point average in all academic courses.
- Be
recommended by the Professor of Military Science.

If you are enlisted in
the Army, you may be eligible to apply for a four-, three-, or two-year
scholarship.
Four -year
scholarship applicants must:
- Meet
the same citizenship, age and physical requirements as other four-year
applicants.
- Complete
at least two years of active duty prior to discharge date and complete at
least three months of service for every month of specialized training you
received..
- Be
under 31 years old on December 31 of the year you expect to graduate and
receive your officer's commission.
- Have
a minimum SAT of 920 or ACT of 19.
- Pass
the Army Physical Fitness Test and achieve a score of 180 or higher with a
minimum of 60 points in each event.
- Meet
other selection criteria as prescribed by regulation.
Three- and two-year scholarship applicants must meet above requirements
(except SAT/ACT minimum) and:
- Be
accepted as a sophomore (for a three-year award) or a junior (for a
two-year award) with three or two years remaining for completion of a
baccalaureate degree.
- Have
a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale on all previous college work.
- Have
a GT score of 115 or higher.

Room Scholarships and other
Scholarships are also available here at
Texas A&M
University Kingsville Army ROTC.
These scholarships provide a monetary award of
up to $2000 per year or pay for a dorm room. These scholarships are usually granted for a one-year period. A mid-term
performance review is conducted which allows the student to continue receiving
benefits the following semester.
Students must meet the following requirements:
- Be
a full time student
- Enrolled
for 3 hour ROTC course
- Participate
in morning physical fitness training
- Have
a 2.0 cumulative GPA
The Professor of Military Science reserves the
right to waive one or more of the above requirements. There is no
military obligation associated the Room Scholarship.
