The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) reviews research involving the use of animals in research, teaching, and demonstration. An initial protocol must be reviewed and approved prior to the initiation of animal use. Updated versions of all forms must be used, or your forms will be returned to you.

Training:

Training in IACUC animal welfare protocols in research is available through Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Registration is free.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs puts on a one-hour IACUC Workshop every fall and spring semester. Please feel free to contact the office at (361) 593-3344 to see when the next workshop will be.
