A&M-Kingsville Vocalists to Perform 'Music of the Theatre' During Free Concert March 8

The Texas A&M University-Kingsville music department presents “Music of the Theater”— a choral concert performance by the Javelina Concert Choir, Javelina Chamber Singers, and spotlight soloists. The free concert will be Tuesday, March 8 at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall in the Bellamah Music Building. It is open to the public.

The Javelina Concert Choir will present works from the operatic stage such as “Va Pensiero” from Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi, “Dance a Cachucha” from The Gondoliers by Gilbert and Sullivan, and “Placido e il mar” from Idomeneo by W. A. Mozart, which will feature assistant music professor Dr. Melinda Brou as soprano soloist. 

The Javelina Chamber Singers will present performances of arrangements of musical theatre works such as “Seasons of Love” from Rent by Jonathan Larsen and “Goodnight My Someone” from The Music Man by Meredith Wilson.
