Austin Lyric Opera featured performers during musical weekend at A&M-Kingsville March 4-5

Texas A&M University- Kingsville's Department of Music will host a weekend of musical presentations by Austin Lyric Opera Friday and Saturday, March 4-5 in the Recital Hall in the Bellamah Music Building on the campus of A&M-Kingsville.

Austin Lyric Opera (ALO) mezzo-soprano Liz Cass will lead a Master Class from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Friday, March 4. A&M-Kingsville voice majors will sing in the master class.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, the ALO will present Opera on a Stick, an hour-long interactive introduction to opera for youth of all ages by members of Austin Lyric Opera’s Education Outreach Program.  They will be singing exciting and memorable operatic arias and ensembles and the program will feature audience participation.  The program is geared for children 5 years and older but also offers plenty for adults to enjoy.

Events are free and open to the public.

This program is made possible through an A&M-Kingsville Quality Enhancement Program grant.
