The University Police Department at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host their first National Night Out from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the parking lot of Javelina Stadium located at the corner of Armstrong and Corral Streets.
National Night Out combines free education and fun into a big night for children and their parents. Children will be fingerprinted using the Identikid program. They will receive information on Stranger Danger, how to say no and other safety tips. Only after receiving all the educational information, will children be allowed in the game area.
Those completing the first portion of the evening will receive a beaded necklace that will provide entry to the game area. There will be moonwalks, fishing, football and beanbag toss, a dunking booth and much more. There will also be free hot dogs and nachos.
Officers also will sell giveaway tickets with all the proceeds going to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
