Meadows Place Native to Reign as New Miss Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Also Named Miss Lantana

Marion Lockard, a junior chemical engineering major from Meadows Place, was crowned Miss TAMUK at the scholarship pageant held Saturday, April 18. Lockard received a $1,500 scholarship and the honor of reigning as Miss TAMUK at university functions. In addition, Lockard was named Miss Lantana.
The first runner-up was Ashtin Schonefeld, a junior communication sciences and disorders major from Kingsville. She receives a $1,000 scholarship. Schonefeld also was named Miss Photogenic.
The second runner-up was Morgan Gant, a freshman marketing major also from Kingsville. Gant received a $500 scholarship.
Terri Johnston, a sophomore civil engineering major from Hondo, was third runner-up; Melissa Barrera, a junior communication sciences and disorders major from Brownsville, was fourth runner-up; and Giselle Carrero, a freshman fine arts major from Houston, was Miss Congeniality.
