Asian Music, Food, Dance and Culture All on Display at A&M-Kingsville Moon Festival March 28
KINGSVILLE - March 24, 2009
One of the highlights of Asian Pacific Heritage Month at Texas A&M University-Kingsville is the Moon Festival, happening Saturday, March 28, from 6-10 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union Building Courtyard.
The public is invited to attend this free event, featuring a wide selection of sights, sounds and activities showcasing various elements of Asian culture.
Attractions include a food fest, Chinese calligraphy, henna tattoos, a performance of the chenda percussion instrument, belly dancers, origami, a multicultural fashion parade, face painting, a moon walk for the kids and more.
Students interested in participating in the food fest should call 593-3606.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville Asian Pacific Heritage Awareness Events for 2009 are sponsored by the Asian Pacific Heritage Committee, the Navy Recruiting District-San Antonio, the Center for Continuing Education and International Studies and Programs.
